Last year, I went on a trip to Dubai with Thrillophilia. It was a wonderful experience that I remember vividly to date. After that trip, I was really impressed with this company and knew that I had found my permanent travel companion. So, this year I was planning a trip to Switzerland with my two close friends. Since I already knew where to look, I immediately opened Thrillopilia’s site and started searching for Switzerland tour packages.
There were quite a lot of options available on the site. I feel the easiest way to select a package is to go with the one that has the best reviews. So, while I was scrolling through the packages, I was also checking the Thrillophilia reviews for each one of those. It took around a week for the three of us to finalise one package. After that, I sent an inquiry to learn more about that package in detail. I received a call from an agent of the company within a few hours. He asked some basic informational questions for his record. I also made sure to clarify all my doubts about the package and the itinerary.
After all the discussions, we finally booked the ‘Glimpse of Switzerland’ package for 6 days and 5 nights. The next step was to book the flight tickets and pack our bags.
Glimpse of Switzerland
Our trip started from the Zurich airport. It took almost two hours for all of us to complete our immigration process. Once we came out of the airport, we saw that there was a driver waiting for us. From the airport, we proceed straight towards our pre-booked hotel.
We totally loved our hotel and it was way more than what I had expected. Our room was huge and had a round-shaped bed in the centre of the room. The bathroom had a beautiful bathtub and an attached dressing room. The glass window almost covered one of the walls, from where the view was truly spectacular.
Our first day was at leisure so we decided to explore the place on our own. Before that, the three of us enjoyed a sauna and spa session at our hotel. In the evening, we dressed up and went out in the neighbourhood. We visited the nearest market, tried various street foods and then casually walked on the street, admiring the beauty of Zurich.
The next day, we woke up, got dressed and had our breakfast at the hotel. Today, we were going to visit Mount Titlis which is one of the most popular and beautiful attractions in the country. To reach our destination, we first went to the train station and took a train to Lucerne. From Lucerne, we took another train to Engelberg station. Next, we took a bus from Engelberg station to Titlisbahn. At last, we took the Rotair Cable Car ride to reach the top of Mount Titlis. The Rotair Cable Car ride is the world’s first ever revolving cable car and offers breathtaking views from a height of 3020 metres. Although it was a long journey, we surely got to learn as well as experience the city’s lifestyle.
Once we reached the top of the mountain, we were left speechless by the stunning views. We took a lot of pictures to capture this beauty as well as to remember this precious moment. On our way back to Zurich, we explored a few places in Lucerne such as the Chapel Bridge and the Lion Monument. After a fun day, we reached our hotel at night and prepared ourselves for the next day.
The third day of our itinerary included a tour of Zurich. We visited a lot of popular attractions such as the Rapperswil Castle, Lake Zurich, the Swiss National Museum and St. Peter’s Church. Since all of us are extreme chocolate lovers, it was a must for us to visit the Lindt Home of Chocolate. We not only tried a lot of chocolate treats but also packed a bunch of chocolates as souvenirs.
On our fourth day, we were going to visit the Rhine Falls which is a natural wonder. We left our hotel right after our breakfast. This time it was a simple journey, a direct train from Zurich to Schaffhausen. Rhine Falls is a mesmerising location that I would suggest to everyone. There are three main viewpoints, Belvedere, Kanzeli and Fischnetz. One by one, we visited all three viewpoints. To make our visit more fun, we enjoyed boating on the waters of the Rhine Falls. At night, we returned back to our hotel in Zurich.
Day 5 was our last day in Switzerland. We first went to Uetliberg which is the most beautiful mountain of the Albis hill range. From the summit of the mountain, we could overlook the entire city of Zurich. Next, we proceeded towards the Zurich Zoo which is home to over 400 species of animals. We saw a lot of animals and birds such as kangaroos, koalas, snakes, Asian elephants, zebras, white rhinos, emus and parrots. In the end, we went to Bahnhofstrasse which is a popular street for shopping. We found a beautiful open-air restaurant on the street where we decided to have our dinner.
On day 6, we packed our bags and completed the check-out formalities. Our driver came to pick us up outside our hotel. From the hotel, he drove us to the airport and we bid our farewell to Switzerland.
A truly memorable trip
I truly thank Thrillophilia for being a great help in all my trip planning. Once again, this company proved to me why I chose Thrillophilia over and over again. The only regret I have is that 5-6 days were not sufficient to explore a place like Switzerland. It felt like the trip ended too soon and we wanted to explore so much more. Other than that, it was a well-planned and memorable trip. This company provided me with an unforgettable trip and in return, I made sure to drop a review of Thrillophilia as a gesture of appreciation.
